CORVALLIS — Last weekend Ruth Hamblin shut down Jillian Alleyne, limiting the Oregon star to 16 total points on 6 of 26 shooting and 16 rebounds over two games while snapping her streak of 29 consecutive double-doubles.
Next, Hamblin will aim for the same type of success against the Pac-12's top young post — California's Kristine Anigwe.
The 6-foot-4 freshman's numbers pop off the page. She ranks second in the Pac-12 in scoring (21.9 points per game) -- and second nationally among freshmen in that category -- and fourth in the conference in rebounding (9.8 per game).
