CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. – The Oregon State softball team finished day one of the famous Mary Nutter Classic 1-1 on Friday at the Big League Dreams Complex. The Beavers suffered a 7-4 loss in their opening game to Long Beach State, but rebounded with a 10-2 victory over NC State in the night cap.
The Beach jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the Beavers struggled to get any base runners on in the first three innings. Oregon State finally got a pair of runners on in the fourth, but failed to score until the fifth inning.
