CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State wrestling team is ranked 20 in the WIN 2016-17 preseason Tournament Power Index (TPI).
The TPI is based on the school's wrestlers who are rated in WIN's individual rankings, predicting possible All-American candidates in the 2017 NCAA Championships, set for March 16-18 in St. Louis.
The Beavers return nine starters, including All-American heavyweight , from a 2015-16 team that won its fifth consecutive Pacific-12 Conference tournament championship after going 11-6 overall and 3-2 in the Pac-12.
Dhesi is ranked No. 4 at heavyweight. He was 32-5 in 2016, took fifth at the NCAA championships, and was named the Pac-12 Wrestler of the Year after capturing the conference title in his weight class.
