CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State cross country team cracked the national polls for the first time this season on Monday when it was ranked No. 15 in the West Region by the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Beavers burst into the top 15 on the strength of a standout performance at the Indiana State Pre-Nationals Invitational on Oct. 15. They placed first in the 25-team White pool at the prestigious completion, which was held on the same course as this year's NCAA Championships.
OSU defeated six regionally-ranked programs (Nevada, UTEP, Oakland, Miami of Ohio, Wichita State, Central Michigan) in winning its race.
