SEATTLE, Wash. – Oregon State raced five boats at the Head of the Lake with the Beavers Varsity 8 recording a third-place finish Sunday in Seattle.
The Oregon State V8, coxed by Heather Thompson and raced by Bobby Vernazza, Josh West, Jesse Maritz, Neall Koetje, Spencer Smith, Collin Griffitts, Grant VanKampen and Nathan Smith, pulled in with a time of 16-minutes, 48.614-seconds to earn a bronze medal finish behind Washington (15:59.074) and Stanford (16:22.699).
“I’m a little disappointed and we showed we’ve got work to do,” head coach Gabe Winkler said.
