Oregon State's depth, size, and athleticism, not to mention their defense and dunking ability, were too much for visiting Iona Tuesday night. The Beavers broke open a close game late in the first half, opening a double digit lead they would never relinquish, and then answered a late second half Gaels rally to again pull away to win 93-73, and improve to 2-0 on the season.
It was a close game for most of the first half, with Iona holding a 23-21 lead when Oregon State coach Wayne Tinkle took a time out with 6:54 left in the first half.
