CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State baseball is now ranked second to open the 2018 season as the USA Today Coaches Poll was released on Thursday.
The Beavers received 735 points, 31 shy of No. 1 Florida. Oregon State also received four of a possible 31 first-place votes; the Gators picked up 26 with Texas Tech also taking one.
The Red Raiders are No. 3, followed by TCU and Florida State to round out the top five.
Collegiate Baseball, Baseball America, D1Baseball.com and Perfect Game have all ranked the Beavers second as well. The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) rankings remain the final poll yet to be unveiled, and will be released at a later date.
