LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The No. 10 Oregon State women’s basketball team handed USC its second loss of the season and its first at the Galen Center, as the Beavers opened their Pac-12 season with a 57-49 victory Saturday evening in Los Angeles.
Senior Ruth Hamblin finished with 16 points and 14 rebounds, and etched her name in the Oregon State record book by becoming the 20th player in school history to reach the 1,000-career point mark. Hamblin joins teammates Sydney Wiese and Jamie Weisner in the 1,000-point club.
“I loved our effort tonight defensively,” said Oregon State head coach Scott Rueck, who notched the 100th win of his Oregon State career with the victory.
