SALT LAKE CITY – Avery Roberts posted 21 tackles and Calvin Tyler Jr. scored twice but Oregon State's late comeback attempt came up just short in a 30-24 loss to Utah Saturday night at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
Kolby Taylor scored on a 21-yard touchdown pass with five minutes remaining to pull the Beavers to within six. OSU, which had at one point been down 30-10, had an opportunity late to pull ahead. Oregon State (2-3 overall) made it into Utah (1-2) territory with less than 40 seconds to play. However, an incomplete pass on fourth down turned the ball over on downs.
