VALENTINE, Neb. – The Oregon State men's golf team battled through windy conditions and a frost delay to sit in fifth place after the first day of competition at The Jackrabbit on Monday.
The first round was cancelled due to high winds on Sunday, so the 12-team field tried to get two rounds in on Monday. Only three of those teams finished before play was halted due to darkness.
The Beavers shot a 5-over 293 in the morning round at the par-72, 7,785-yard Dunes Course at the Prairie Club and are 7 under in the afternoon with three players needing to finish the round.
