The Beavers scored a season low nine first quarter points and fell behind by five early in the second quarter before finding their groove to take care of the short-handed Cougars. Washington State was without their leading scorer, forward Borislava Hristova, who was still recovering from a late week ankle sprain. The Beavers had to struggle with some adversity as well when Mikayla Pivec exited the game early in the first quarter with two quick fouls that caused her to miss nearly the entire first half.
Poor shooting haunted the home team’s first half production, hitting just 32% of their shots, as they found themselves down two points going into the break.
