CORVALLIS, Ore. – had 26 points, nine rebounds and seven assists to lead Oregon State to an 81-76 win over a scrappy Portland State team on Sunday afternoon at Gill Coliseum.
With the win, the Beavers improved to 7-1 and equaled their best start since the 1980-81 Orange Express squad opened 26-0. The 1984-85 and 1986-87 Oregon State teams also started 7-1.
It was the fifth straight victory for the Beavers, who have defeated Portland State (3-5) in all 14 matchups between the schools.
Tinkle went 8-for-15 from the field, including 5-for-7 from beyond the arc, and 5-for-5 from the free throw line for his 26 points.
