CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State battled No. 5 Arizona on even terms until early in the second half before falling 71-54 on Thursday before a Gill Coliseum crowd of 4,745.
The Beavers (4-19, 0-10 Pac-12) led 29-27 at halftime and they scored the first basket of the second half. But the Wildcats (21-2, 10-0) answered with a 19-5 run over the next five minutes to take a 46-34 lead with 14:04 to play. The Beavers never got closer than 10 points the rest of the way.
There were six lead changes and five ties before the Wildcats pulled away in the second half to win their 15th game in a row.
