The bad news for Oregon State fans was that despite hanging around early against Washington State, the Beavers fell apart in the second half of their 53-23 blowout loss on Saturday in Pullman.
Even worse news was that Beavers quarterback Jake Luton was carted off the field after colliding with Washington State safety Jalen Thompson early in the fourth quarter.
Luton went down and remained motionless on the field for several minutes before was strapped into a stretcher. He gave a thumbs up as the injury cart moved from the field to an ambulance waiting in the tunnel.
