CORVALLIS, Ore. – Michael Gretler went 2-for-4 and hit his first home run of the season in front of a sold out 3,420 fans at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field, but top-ranked Oregon State lost in 10 innings to USC, 7-5, Saturday afternoon.
The 3,420 in attendance broke an Oregon State regular season single-game record at Goss Stadium, previously set in 2013 against Washington State.
Gretler went 2-for-4 and his fourth-inning solo home run pulled the Beavers to within one at the time, 3-2. OSU took the lead for the first time in the sixth on one of Christian Donahue's two hits, but the Trojans forced the game into extra innings with an eighth-inning run and USC picked up the win thanks to a two-run double by Cris Perez in the 10th.
