CORVALLIS, Ore. – Cal Baptist got an offensive rebound and a friendly roll with a second left to knock off Oregon State 79-77 in the season-opener for both teams on Wednesday evening.
Lauren Olsen scored the game-winner for CBU, the final points of a game-high 24 for last season's WAC Freshman of the Year. Taylor Young led the Beavers with 22 points, the most in a debut by a Beav since Alyssa Martin set the record in 2010.
Jenna Villa scored 21 points including 19 in the second half. She was inches away from 24 but the would-be game-winner with a second left rimmed out as time expired.
