TUCSON, Ariz. – The 11th-ranked Oregon State baseball team took an early lead but was unable to hold it in a 6-1 loss to Arizona Friday night at Hi Corbett Field.
Logan Ice drove in Nick Madrigal, who had tripled with one down, on a groundout in the first to put the Beavers up 1-0. Arizona, however, took a 3-1 lead with a three-run fourth inning, highlighted by a triple from Ryan Aguilar. The Wildcats added to their lead with a two-run seventh and one more in the eighth.
Madrigal’s first-inning triple extended his hit streak to 13 games, one shy of his season-long of 14.
