CORVALLIS, Ore. – Freshman forward Tres Tinkle scored a game-high 19 points in his Civil War debut and Oregon State led wire-to-wire in a convincing 70-57 victory over Oregon on Sunday before a sellout crowd of 9,604 at Gill Coliseum.
Senior Olaf Schaftenaar added 13 points and a career-high eight rebounds. Seniors Gary Payton II and Langston Morris-Walker added 12 each and freshman Stephen Thompson Jr. had 10 as five Beavers scored in double figures in a very balanced offensive attack.
The Beavers (10-2, 1-0 Pac-12) thus collected their 186th all-time victory in a rivalry they dominate 186-159.
