CORVALLIS – The No. 25 Oregon State University softball team opened up Pac-12 play with a series win against No. 16 California (24-5, 1-2). After splitting the first two games the Beavers won game three on Sunday afternoon 8-3 at the OSU Softball Complex.
The Beavers won the for seventh time in nine games, and improve to 19-10, 2-1 Pac-12.
It was Oregon State who scored in the first period taking a 1-0 lead early. In the following inning Cal scored two and added another in the fourth leading 3-1.
Hope Brandner had the equalizer, a two-run homer run that barely missed the scoreboard in left field, in the bottom of the fourth inning.
