Beavers Can't Hold On In Regional Opener

WACO, Texas – The Oregon State softball team – making its 13th NCAA tournament appearance – jumped out to a 2-0 lead over No. 11/12 James Madison, but could not hold on. The Dukes came back to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth before hitting a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh to defeat the Beavers, 3-2.

The Dukes entered the Regional boasting the nation's highest batting average with a .357 mark and starting pitcher Megan Good held a 0.48 ERA, but that did not seem to faze the Beavers in the opening frame.
