CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State wrestling team dropped nine spots to No. 24 in the USA Today/National Wrestling Coaches Association's Top 25 poll on Tuesday.
OSU's fall was precipitated by a split in the season-opening Mountaineer Duals. The Beavers defeated Duke 22-20, but lost 25-15 to host Appalachian State, which moved up to No. 23 as a result.
Five Beavers earned Top-20 consideration in their respective weight classes by The Open Mat, and three were ranked by InterMat and the Amateur Wrestling News in those website's weekly rankings.
