After some rescheduling, the Beavers began the season in Surprise, Arizona with a morning clash with Indiana before an afternoon match up against Duke.

OSU shut out Indiana 1-0 in the first game with Steven Kwan scoring the only run off of a Christian Donahue double in the 6th. Luke Heimlich started on the mound and went for just over 5 innings. Heimlich struck out 11 of the 20 batters he faced, which was a new career high. Jake Thompson and Jake Mulholland made relief appearances and closer Max Engelbrekdt came in to get the save. Thompson was given the winning decision.
