Baylor coach Kim Mulkey witnesses Oregon State's family atmosphere: NCAA Tournament notes

DALLAS -- When Kim Mulkey became Baylor's coach prior to the 2000-01 season, the Lady Bears were coming off a 7-20 season. Since then, Mulkey has built Baylor into a national power, highlighted by two national championships, three Final Four berths and six trips to the Elite Eight.

Scott Rueck is working toward a similar goal, taking an OSU program that was in shambles nearly six years ago and guiding the Beavers to the Elite Eight for the first time in school history this season.

Mulkey acknowledges "we're in bed by the time (OSU plays) sometimes." But she has a connection to the school, playing with Beavers legend Carol Menken-Schaudt on the 1984 Olympic team.
