After close losses to Tennessee and at Notre Dame during nonconference play, OSU continued to fight the narrative that it could not get over the hump in big games. But the Beavers emphatically answered that question against their Pac-12 rivals, rallying from 11 points down in the second half to steal a 58-50 win.
Hunter tallied 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Weisner added 18 points (including 12 in the fourth quarter), six assists and four steals. It was the Beavers’ first win against Stanford since 2001.
"You're kind of down and out and it doesn't feel good," Rueck said.
