World Indoor Champs begin today with a loaded women's 3k: Oregon track & field rundown

The World Indoor Track & Field Championships begin today in the British city of Birmingham, and fans in this part of the U.S. have something to watch right away.

The three Thursday finals are the men's and women's high jump, and the women's 3,000 meters, which includes Shelby Houlihan of the Bowerman Track Club, Sifan Hassan of The Netherlands, who trains as part of the Nike Oregon Project, and Katie Mackey of Seattle-based Brooks.

The experts at LetsRun.com say the field, which also includes Ethiopia's Genzebe Dibaba, Kenyan Hellen Obiri and British star Laura Muir, is positively loaded.
