Vin Lananna has resigned as president of the TrackTown USA local organizing committee according to a source close to the situation.
Lananna informed the TrackTown USA staff of his decision in a meeting in Eugene on Tuesday.
TrackTown USA has staged the last three U.S. Olympic Trials for track and field at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field, the 2014 World Junior Championships at Hayward, and the 2016 World Indoor Championships at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland.
Lananna has either directed TrackTown USA or shared the leadership of it since its inception prior to the 2008 Olympic Trials.
