In October the NCAA changed to a single transfer portal window in January and shortened the window for players when a coach leaves to a 15-day window that begins five days after the coach is fired.
Previously players had a full 30 days to enter the portal. UCLA, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma State, and Arkansas, are "grandfathered in" and still have the 30-day window.
That means for DJ Pickett, Harold Perkins and other players on the LSU roster, their window begins on October 31 and end on November 14. Recruits who had made a verbal commitment for 2026 such as four-star tackle Deuce Geralds are free to reopen their commitment at any time between now and signing day.
