Tjen Becomes Third All-American in UO History

Oregon true freshman Janice Tjen earned ITA All-America status following her incredible run to the national semifinals of the NCAA Singles Championship. She is the third Oregon player to receive All-America recognition and the second to do so as a singles player.

Tjen joins Daria Panova and head coach Courtney Nagle as the only Ducks to gain All-America status, with the Panova and Nagle receiving the honor as a doubles pair in 2003 and Panova earning the honor as a singles player in 2003 and 2004.

The freshman from Jakarta, Indonesia became the first Oregon player to reach the final four of the NCAA Singles Championship, with Panova previously holding the deepest run with a trip to the round of 16 in 2003.
