The post-spring confidence meter: receivers

Even going back to the dismal days when wins were scarce, Oregon has always had running backs and receivers that were fun to root for. Bobby Moore. Greg Newland. Tony Cherry. Lew Barnes. Christin McLemore. Samie Parker. Maurice Morris. Rueben Droughns. Jeremiah Johnson. Guys who could score touchdowns, who gave the Ducks a fighting chance even when they were outmanned and untalented as a whole.

The tradition continues in 2016. Although the team has a much higher ceiling now they still rely on a wide-open offense and running backs and receivers that are fun to watch.

Darren Carrington is the natural heir to Oregon greats like Josh Huff and Jeff Maehl, a big-play guy with a touch of acrobat, a flair for getting open and a knack for coming down with the ball when the Webfoots need to get the crowd in the game.
