Tyler Shough is an embattled graduate of the Mario Cristobal School of Quarterback Mismanagement, a former Oregon starter who led the old PAC-12 in yards per attempt and quarterback rating in 2020.
On Sunday he becomes the fifth Duck to start a game at quarterback this season in the NFL, although Shough doesn't count in exactly the same way. His time in Eugene left him so shell-shocked with battered confidence that he transferred twice, first to Texas Tech and then Louisville.
Shough is starting Sunday for the Saints, a radio play-by-play man's nightmare of a tongue twister, particularly if said announcer wears dentures.
