Early this summer, after Madison defensive standout Daniel Green committed to USC, Rivals four-star linebacker Sampson Niu expressed significant interest in the Trojans.
At the time, however, Green's commitment filled their need at the position group, leaving Niu searching for other options.
"USC is only taking two 'backers and they already have their two commits," Niu told The Oregonian in June. "It was a miscommunication, but no hard feelings. It's business."
The 6-foot-1, 217-pound 'backer moved on, committing to Oregon in late June, but with a coaching change in Eugene, as well as Green's decommitment this week, some Duck fans wondered if he was re-considering the L.
