Dana Altman has once again landed a top-ranked commit. Sophomore guard Rivaldo Soares has made a name for himself at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas. where he’s averaged 15.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.
The 6-foot-6 WJCAC player of the year also shot 34.5 percent from deep and 45.5 percent from the floor which earned him a spot on the NJCAA All-American first team. He led the Texans to the NJCAA Elite Eight and tallied five games in which he scored more than 20 points.
Hopefully. Soares will be able to join Oregon’s growing list of successful JUCO transfers, which includes Chris Duarte, Chris Boucher and Dwayne Benjamin.
