Raza Leads Ducks on Day Two in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Led by a strong performance from redshirt junior Sulman Raza, the Oregon men’s golf team finished the second round of play at The Gifford in fifth place.

How It Happened: Raza was the low Duck on Tuesday, carding a 4-under 67 at La Costa’s par-71, 6,996-yard Legends course to lead Oregon to a second-round, 6-over 290. In fifth place, the Ducks are now 9-over for the tournament with a 36-hole tally of 577. Washington leads the pack at 8-under after 36 holes.

Exhibiting consistency by converting five birdies to only one bogey, Raza’s 67 was the lowest score on the course on Tuesday, and tied this year’s tournament low set by UCLA’s Cole Madey in Monday’s first round.
