'Pissed off' Oregon Ducks believe they'll respond strongly after first loss of Taggart era

TEMPE, Ariz. -- After Oregon's first loss of 2016, at Nebraska, a hole appeared in a wall outside the UO locker room.

It hadn't been there before kickoff. But after Oregon failed to pull away after taking an early lead, and couldn't punch in numerous two-point conversions in its road loss in Lincoln, a Ducks player, out of frustration, put his fist through drywall.

Given the benefit of hindsight, the fist did less damage to the wall than the frustrating road defeat would to UO's confidence. The Ducks didn't offer much fight after losses in 2016 en route to a 4-8 record, allowing little mistakes to snowball into bigger breakdowns and winnable games to turn into defeats.
