EUGENE -- If Jake Hanson looks to the opposing sideline on Saturday when Oregon hosts Cal, he'll be able to see a man who once sung his praises.
"He runs the show," Steve Greatwood once said of Hanson. "I expect very, very good things from him."
That of course was last season, when Greatwood was still Oregon's offensive line coach. Since then, the Ducks had their dismal 2016 season, Mark Helfrich was fired and none of the assistant coaches were retained, ending Greatwood's 30-year run as an Oregon assistant.
Greatwood was hired by Justin Wilcox at Cal in January, setting up this September return to Autzen Stadium, where Greatwood won't just roam the sideline opposite of the one he occupied for decades, he'll be coaching against an Oregon team that harbors an offensive line made up entirely of players he recruited.
