Oregon sophomore point guard Sabrina Ionescu is one of 25 players still in contention for the John R. Wooden Award, given to women's college basketball's top player.
The pared-down midseason list was announced Thursday, and includes just two underclassmen: Ionescu and Texas A&M freshman Chennedy Carter.
Ionescu is averaging a team-high 18.6 points and 7.4 assists per game, with 7.2 rebounds and is shooting 45.2 percent on three-pointers, a rate that ranks 20th in Division I. Earlier this season, she set an NCAA career record with her eighth triple-double.
