Unlike last season, Starting Pitcher Jordan Dail will not be alone in the circle. Lombardi has brought in some help including Freshman Makenna Klierthermes and Junior Brooke Yanez. Catcher Terra McGowan will also be eligible after having to sit out last season. Oregon opens the season with the usual round of tournaments away from home including the Mary Nutter Classic.
The Ducks will also play an exhibition team against the US Women’s National Team on March 18th as the team welcomes home Janie Takeda, now Janie Reed. Oregon will face 18 teams that reached the NCAA Tournament last season as they look to make a push to return to the postseason with a quick turnaround under second-year Head Coach Melyssa Lombardi.
