Oregon forward CJ Walker to transfer from Oregon

Sophomore forward CJ Walker announced his intent to transfer from the University of Oregon this afternoon.

The former 5-star recruit out of Sanford, Florida cited uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic and wanting to be closer to his family as the primary reasons for his decision.

Walker averaged 4 points, 2.5 rebounds and 0.3 assists in his freshman season at Oregon. He made 28 appearances for the Ducks, including seven starts. He played well against Gonzaga and Seton Hall in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament, and scored a career-high 18 points against Hawaii.

Walker’s foray into the transfer portal leaves the Ducks with one scholarship left to use for 2020-21, meaning that Oregon can add another player to the team for the upcoming season, or let it carry over for the 2021-22 season, whichever Coach Altman and his staff feel would best help the team.
