Oregon Football: Ugo Amadi Honored With Lombardi Award

Former Oregon Duck Defensive Star Ugockukwu Amadi won the Lombardi Award on Friday night.

The Lombardi Award honors the top college football player that cites “leadership qualities honed by character and resiliency.” Over the last four seasons for Oregon Football, Amadi played in 51 games and was one of the most experienced players on the team. He started his Oregon career at Cornerback before moving to Safety over the last two seasons.

For the 2018 season, Amadi was also a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, given to the top Defensive Back. Others that were included in the final list for the Lombardi Award included Oklahoma Quarterback Kyler Murray.
