Oregon Ducks News: Steer blasts 2, Liberty eliminated, Volleyball reaches 9-1

With the Cincinnati just two games behind the Mets for the last Wild Card spot, former Oregon Duck Spencer Steer hit home runs in the fourth and sixth inning to propel the Red to a 7-4 win over Chicago Friday night.

That gave Steer 20 or more home runs in a season for the third year in a row, and 72 RBI for 2025. He was an All-PAC-12 infielder for the Ducks in 2019, setting the career RBI mark for the program as a junior, since surpassed by Jacob Walsh.

Elsewhere in Major League Baseball Diamondbacks pitcher Ryne Nelson turned another quality start for Arizona Thursdy night.
