Oregon defensive coordinator in 2017 and 2018, Jim Leavitt was arrested in St. Petersburg Monday night after an argument with a former girlfriend turned physical.
Leavitt is charged with stealing a Louis Vuitton purse and wallet valued at over $5000, a felony, plus misdemeanor battery and assault. According to the report from the AP he pushed a man who was present at the scene.
Now 68, his most recent job in college football was as SMU defensive coordinator in 2021. Back in 2010 the Bulls fired him after an investigation into allegations he struck a player in the locker room at halftime.
