At a Celebration of Life July 10, 2024 in Autzen Stadium, teammate Tez Johnson said about Khyree Jackson, "Khyree was one of those guys that you wanted to be around every day. No matter what it was, if you were around Khyree, you were going to have a good day."
Jackson was a few days away from leaving for Minnesota Vikings training camp when he died in a car accident in Prince George County, Maryland in the early morning on July 6th, a passenger in a vehicle hit by a drunken driver.
The Ducks choose to honor and remember him each July on the eve of Fall Camp, along with another fallen teammate, tight end Spencer Webb, with a hike to the top of Spencer Butte south of Eugene.
