The Oregon Ducks brought their bats and their arms into SEC Country and opened a three game series against Mississippi State on Friday. A.J. Balta started the Offense for George Horton with a two run blast in the first inning, but Mississippi State would make a game of it. For the game, the Bulldogs pitchers held Oregon to just four hits in the game. Despite the lack of hitting, the Ducks made the most of their opportunities netting eight walks and leaving six runners on the basepads in scoring position.
Oregon Ducks Starter Cole Irvin took his first loss of the season lasting just five innings and giving up nine hits with two strikeouts.
