More former Nike Oregon Project athletes allege 'inappropriate' use of thyroid medication

Three more former members of the Nike Oregon Project have alleged that NOP coach Alberto Salazar had them use prescription thyroid medication as a training aid.

The fresh allegations are contained in a story appearing on the website of ProPublica, a non-profit source of investigative journalism.

None of the three former Oregon Project runners making the new allegations are identified.

The ProPublica story, written by investigative reporter David Epstein, says 17 former Oregon Project team members or staffers have described "inappropriate prescription drug use."

The only people to have made the allegations on the record are former Oregon Project assistant Steve Magness, and elite runners Adam Goucher and Kara Goucher.
