Late Breakdowns Cost Ducks In Finale

EUGENE, Ore. — Wisconsin got some late three-pointers to fall and Oregon couldn't get a free throw to fall most of the night, a combination that led to the Badgers beating the Ducks, 61-58, in their NIT quarterfinal Tuesday night, ending the UO men's season before 3,384 fans in Matthew Knight Arena.

The Ducks (21-15) led 54-48 with just over three minutes to play. But the Badgers made their last three three-point attempts, while Oregon missed a couple free throws down the stretch — two of the Ducks' eight misses on the night.

"We played hard, we did some good things," UO coach Dana Altman said.
