Oregon Ducks kicker Alec Hallman is leaving the team to be closer to family in Florida, he announced Wednesday on social media.
Hallman, who is from Lithia, Florida, will transfer to Florida International.
He thanked Oregon and FIU coaches on social media Wednesday in announcing his departure from Eugene.
"I would like to thank the University of Oregon for everything over the past year but due to the health situation of a family member I have decided it is best for my family and me for me to be closer to home and to the people that mean the most to me," Hallman wrote.
