Friday night at Hard Rock Stadium Carson Beck and No. 2 Miami played their way out of the Heisman race and the national championship picture, falling to unranked Louisville 24-21 as Beck threw four interceptions.
On first and 10 with 34 seconds to play, in field goal range with a chance for a tie, last week's Heisman Trophy favorite tried a pass in the flat to sophomore tight end Elija Lofton, tipped at the line of scrimmage and intercepted by Cardinals linebacker T.J. Capers.
The loss snapped a 10-game winning streak for Miami, which no longer controls its destiny for the ACC title game.
