Hannah Cunliffe has winning start as a professional sprinter: Oregon track & field rundown

A few things ...

-- Former Oregon sprinter Hannah Cunliffe began her professional sprint career in winning fashion by overcoming a slow start to win the 100 meters Saturday at the Grenada Invitational.

Cunliffe came on strong in the last half of the race to edge Olympian Jeneba Tarmoh. Cunliffe was timed in 11.42 seconds, Tarmoh in 11.44. Ex-Oregon star Jasmine Todd was fifth in 11.80.

It was Cunliffe's first non-relay race since signing with Adidas.

Cunliffe had something of a star-crossed two seasons at Oregon after transferring from Oklahoma. She set the indoor collegiate record in the 60 meters of 7.
