Megan Kleist tossed a two-hit shutout, and Gwen Svekis and Haley Cruse each homered to lead the No. 2 Oregon Ducks softball team to an 8-0 run-rule victory over the Utah Utes on Friday night in Eugene.
Kleist struck out five and walked one in six innings to improve to 18-5 on the season.
Svekis put the Ducks on the board early with her two-run shot to left in the bottom of the first that scored Jenna Lilley.
Oregon (42-7, 16-3 Pac-12 Conference) tacked on three more runs in the second, then widened the lead to 6-0 in the fourth on Cruse's solo shot to left.
