Former Oregon assistant coach Mark Wasikowski hired as Purdue head coach

The Oregon baseball team will have a slot to fill on their coaching staff as former assistant Mark Wasikowski was hired as the next head coach of the Purdue Boilermakers on Friday.

Wasikowski was also Oregon’s recruiting coordinator, so that could have a noticeable impact on the future of the program.

Wasikowski joined the Oregon coaching staff in the summer of 2011, joining George Horton. The two had faced off in the past when Wasikowski was an assistant with Arizona in 2004 and Horton was with Cal State Fullerton, leading the Titans to a College World Series title over the Wildcats.
